Mummy Maniac?

The recent reports about the murder of 24-year old graduate student Imette St. Guillen have titled the person responsible as the “Mummy Maniac.” More details have recently been released about that case and it tells the story of a sick, sexual sadist at work. Imette St. Guillen, was a graduate student at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York, and she ended up in the hands of a person desperate to carry out his sick sexual fantasies.

According to The New York Daily News, St. Guillen was last seen at the Pioneer Bar around 3:00am on Saturday. She was out drinking with a friend from high school and they left together but soon parted ways. She spoke with another friend a short time later and told her friend she was at another bar and did not sound distressed.

According to The New York Daily News, a man dialed 911 anomalously from a phone in front of the Lindenwood Diner on Linden Blvd. and told police where her nude body was thrown in the weeds along the side of the road near the belt parkway. Of course, police are eager to track this caller down.

Some details of the murder that have been reported are quite revolting. St. Guillen was beaten, raped, sodomozed and suffocated. Her face was covered with strips of clear packing tape, her hair was cut off, her genitals sliced and she had a tube sock stuffed down her throat.

St. Guillen was found wrapped in a flowered bedspread as shown to the left. It looks like a pattern you would see in a hotel/motel and police believe the bedspread is over 10 years old. They are asking the public to see if they recognize the pattern.

The Boston Globe published an article containing some personal information on Imette St. Guillen. This was a beautiful, successful and smart girl. My heart goes out to her family and friends.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.

Im curious as to why you want Darryl Littlejohn to be the culprit? I too want the person(s) responsible to be apprehended, however, if not, he then whomever is truly guilty. The way I interpret your comments is that you want him and only him to be guilty why is that? Does his past criminal record automatically deem him guilty?

I think that this is a cover up for either the owner, bartender or manager of the bar. St. Guillen went to the bar intoxicated and alone which indicates that she was familiar with someone there and judging from the time of night, it was of a romantic nature. She was raped and probably killed at the bar and Littlejohn was probably instructed to dispose of the body. Few things: why would an ex-con who is newly paroled, trying to get his life back together and who doesn't have a crtiminal history of rape or murder risk his freedom with commiting a brutal rape and murder? Also the condition of her body seems slightly professional and disposing seems unprofessional and hastily done. The facts are not adding up and the wrong man is going to be taking the fall.
